A neglected property with untapped views is now a top performer in its market. The Selah House opened in March 2026 and is expected to generate approximately $110,000 in revenue it’s first year at 85% occupancy, outpacing most two-bedroom, two-bath properties in the Bailey market. The outdoor space isn’t a bonus feature. It’s the reason guests choose this property over every other option on the page.

The Problem

Tucked into the Colorado mountains with nearly 360-degree views, the Selah House had something most properties can only dream about: a breathtaking natural setting. But the rocky terrain and challenging grade surrounding the home made the outdoor space almost entirely unusable. The views were there. The experience was not. For a mountain retreat targeting couples and small groups looking to disconnect and recharge, that gap between potential and reality was costing real money.

The Approach

We let the land lead. Rather than fighting the rock formations and natural grade, we worked with them, treating the terrain as a design feature instead of an obstacle. Our goal was to create distinct outdoor experiences that felt intentional and elevated while honoring the natural character of the mountain setting around them.

What We Built

Off the back of the home, we designed a large, expansive deck that became the social and scenic centerpiece of the property. The deck features a stargazing net for nights under the Colorado sky, a barbecue grill, a dining area, a covered patio with comfortable seating, and a hot tub positioned to take full advantage of those mountain views. It’s the kind of space that makes guests put their phones down and just breathe.

Tucked into the rock formation itself, we carved out a dedicated wellness space that feels like a hidden discovery. A barrel sauna and cold plunge sit nestled into the natural landscape, giving guests a private, resort-caliber experience they simply cannot find at a standard rental. And perched above it all, an elevated fire pit area looks out over the mountains, giving guests a place to gather as the sun sets and the stars take over.
